History
Pappoule’s was established in March 1982 by John and Angeline Cotsones who moved to Tucson from their native Chicago in 1977.
Pappoule’s has served authentic Greek food to thousands of guests in Arizona. The first store was located at the Tucson Mall food court, and remains the only original and successful food court tenant in the mall since its inception.
John and Angeline’s son Michael, and his wife Bea Cotsones moved to Tucson in 1991 and assumed operations of the Pappoule’s at Tucson Mall in 1991, during the renovation of the mall and moved the restaurant to its current location in the food court.
From 1995-1998, Mike and Bea Cotsones opened up and operated Pappoule’s Downtown. In 2002, the Fiesta Mall Mesa store was opened in the Phoenix valley and operates in the food court. The Cotsones opened the current location in Park Place Mall food court next to the theaters in 2003. Pappoule’s Opa! – their fast casual dine-in restaurant opened in Foothills Mall in 2007. This popular location has a large dining room, serves beer and wine, has big screen televisions and outside patio seating with beautiful views of the Santa Catalina Mountains.
Pappoule’s and Pappoule’s – Opa continues today in a rich tradition of serving authentic, homemade Greek Food in four malls in Arizona.
